Q22 (20) — a confidence interval, then interpret it against a
business threshold, then a sample-size calculation.
Q23 (20) — a hypothesis test with a diagram, then Type I / Type II errors in context.
Q24 (10) — CLT, standard error, sampling design. Mostly written, barely any arithmetic.
Mon 24 Aug, 0930–1130. Venue and seat number are on the student portal — check them, and recce the room if it is not in SBM. Arrive an hour early. More than 45 minutes late and you cannot sit.
Bring: laptop, charger, calculator, spare batteries, student card, pens. No laptop, no exam — the question paper opens through Respondus LockDown Browser. Install it before the weekend.
In the room: answers are handwritten in a 16-page booklet. Tick MCQ answers on the MCQ page with a pen. Short answer and case studies go on the single-line pages, labelled with the question number. Write the questions attempted on the front page. No rough paper is issued — do rough work on the last page. Formula list and statistical tables are supplied.
Retrieval beats re-reading by a wide margin. That's why the drill and the papers sit at the centre of this plan and the notes sit at the edges. If you only have twenty minutes on a given day, spend it on the MCQ drill, not on the notes.
On a 7-mark confidence interval the arithmetic is worth about 2. The other 5 are the variable defined in words, the Z-or-t justification sentence, the diagram, the table lookup, and the closing sentence in context. Write the shape even when the numbers defeat you.
